Web2Ireland: Web 2.0 – Key factors for success

I want to thank Enterprise Ireland for having invited me to present at their Web 2.0 conference. It was both great fun and very interesting to meet Irish entrepreneurs and chat about their ideas and challenges. This first post just links to the presentation I made, which focused on some of the key criteria for success for Web 2.0 applications. As I mention in the disclaimer, there is *no* silver bullet so don’t use this as a rule book. I will follow-up with another post when I get back home (I am about to board my CDG/SFO flight).

    Very nice blog. I particularly like the fact that things really seem to be happenin in the land of Erin. I am a U.S.A. but am looking to relocate to Ireland. It is the land of my ancestors, and any direction I could get for job-type resources would be helpful.
    Very nice layout btw. I noticed that you are using Typepad. Is that your personal choice or just the one that Technorati is giving you? I am thinking about going with WordPress, but am looking at typepads functionality particularly with its perl structures.

    I was at the event and I found your insights very helpful for a first time entrepreneur looking for funding in the web 2 area. The event really raised the profile of web 2.0 products and services in Ireland. Hopefully the enterprise 2.0 area will get as much attention soon.
    A few notes i took while listening to you an the other VC’s at the event;

    I enjoyed your presentation Jeff and your contributions during the later panel discussion. It was particularly interesting to hear about the contrast between the VC situation in the States and Europe.
    Looking forward to your next visit to the Emerald Isle.

    Web 2.0 Conference Dublin – much food for thought

    The Web 2.0 Conference in Dublin was a big success and was well worth attending. It was great to finally put faces to a lot of names in the Irish tech world and beyond. I went out the previous night to an informal meet-up arranged by Robert Smith. The …
